We supply the lights, design the layout for your specific rooflines, install it, keep it running all season, take it down in January, and store it until next year.

  • Mid-season service included at no charge
  • January takedown and offseason storage

Available for residential and commercial properties — homes, storefronts, offices, restaurants and multi-building complexes.

How a season with us works.

Step one

Custom design

You tell us what you are picturing, we turn that vision into reality. Whether you already have that vision or you'd like our expertise, we're happy to help.

Step two

Installation

We use commercial grade, low-energy C9 LED bulbs, custom cut to fit your home perfectly and clipped neatly to the gutter line. Never stapled, never nailed into your house.

Step three

Maintenance

If a bulb goes out on December 20th, we won't leave you hanging. Give us a call and we will come fix it. The Grinch won't ruin Christmas on our watch.

Step four

Takedown and storage

After the season, we take everything down safely and carefully, then store your lights until next year.

Our work.

Every house on this page is one of ours, here in Connecticut.

A tall evergreen in a front yard fully wrapped in warm white lights under a cloudy night sky
Brick colonial with three peaks and the roofline outlined in warm white lights
Cape-style home with three dormers and a full front porch outlined in warm white lights
Home and detached garage outlined in warm white roofline lights at dusk, with a front tree and porch columns lit

Two-story home on a hill with every peak and gable outlined in warm white roofline lighting

Two Nonnewaug Grads.

We started HellDonis Lighting because we love Christmas and the camaraderie that comes with it. Dad can ditch the ladder on a cold Sunday and turn on football while we handle the dirty work.

We are not a franchise and we do not run a route. We take our time on every property, because no two rooflines are the same and no two families want the same thing. Some people want one clean warm-white line along the roof and nothing else. Some people want the trees, the walkway and the whole yard. Both are the right answer, and we will tell you honestly which one is going to look good on your house.

Every install is done by us, not subcontracted out. We are registered in Connecticut, we carry general liability insurance, and we are on the hook for our own work. If something is not right, you call the people who hung it.

Zack Hellwinkle grew up in Woodbury. Trey Medonis grew up in Bethlehem. We went to Nonnewaug High School together, and these are the roads we have been driving through every December our whole lives.

We are young, we are building this thing house by house, and we would rather earn a neighborhood slowly than rush a season.
